UEFA: "It is time to invite branches of the family to join us at the top table" (Michel Platini)

"I am now convinced that we have reached a time of maturity, wisdom, mutual trust and common sense. In other words, it is time to invite some or all of those branches of the family to join us at the top table -- the balance in terms of representation being yet to be decided," said Michel Platini, the president of UEFA, about social dialogue, in his speech at the Congress of the European confederation held in Vienna (AUT) on 24/03/2015.

Michel Platini therefore wishes to open the UEFA Executive Committee to representatives for players, clubs, and the professional leagues. "There is still a slight problem of governance in world football. Professional football is not represented in the regulatory bodies, when we've been asking for it for years," said Frederic Thiriez, the chairman of the EPFL on 24/02/2015. "The leagues are directly affected by the decision of FIFA (to shift the 2022 World Cup in November-December).
