All four candidates for the presidency of FIFA, Joseph Blatter (SUI), Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein (JOR), Luís Figo (POR) and Michael van Praag (NED), spoke at the podium of the 39th Congress of UEFA held at the Reed Exhibitions Messe in Vienna (AUT) on 24/03/2015.

Ali Bin Al Hussein, Luís Figo and Michael van Praag -- in this order -- gave speeches of ten minutes each to present their programme and their vision of FIFA. Michel Platini said Blatter refused to speak as a candidate, but rather as the person who has chaired the International Federation since 08/06/1998. Thus, Joseph Blatter spoke at the podium in the morning, as FIFA president. His speech included a warning to those advocating a boycott of the 2018 World Cup in Russia because of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict: "Boycotts have never given any results. Sport is independent and this independence must be guaranteed."
