Sky Deutschland: Carsten Schmidt will replace Brian Sullivan as CEO on 24/06/2015

The German Carsten Schmidt will replace the American Brian Sullivan as chairman of the board and CEO of Sky Deutschland, as of 24/06/2015, announced the German pay-TV group, on 26/03/2015. Brian Sullivan, who has been the CEO of Sky Deutschland since April 2010, had his contract extended until the end of 2016 on 01/07/2014. He is "returning to the United States" after the 24/06/2015, said Sky Deutschland, without revealing further details.

Carsten Schmidt joined Sky Deutschland in 1999 as sports director and joined the board of directors of the company in 2006. His duties have been progressively added to over the years as he was in charge of advertising sales (he has been the CEO of the subsidiary Sky Media Network since 2010) and Internet activities. He received the Deutsche Fernsehpreis (an award given by German television professionals) in 2003 for the establishment of the Bundesliga matches multiplex on Saturday afternoon on Sky Sport. He was voted the 2012 sport business manager of the year in Germany by the magazine Horizont.
