Premier League: Kevin Beeston to be an independent non-executive director from June 2015

Kevin Beeston was appointed an independent non-executive director of the board of the Premier League, the professional league which manages the English first division announced 26/03/2015. His taking of office will be effective at the next annual general meeting of the Premier League in June 2015.

His appointment, proposed by the Nominations Committee of the Premier League, was approved by the shareholders of the 20 clubs of the English first division, who also voted for changing the governance of the private company structure of the Premier League, founded in 1992: its Board of Directors from two to three members. Claudia Arney is also named an independent non-executive director of the board of the Premier League, which will also include the Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore, who will become the executive chairman in June 2015.

52 years old, Kevin Beeston, a season ticket holder at Ipswich Town FC (Sky Bet Championship) and Chelsea FC (Barclays Premier League), currently serves as president of three different British companies.
