La Liga: Chinese Dalian Wanda Group completes acquisition of 20% of Atlético Madrid for €44.98m

Wanda Madrid Investment, a subsidiary of the Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda Group, which specialises in entertainment, hospitality and real estate, has acquired a 20% stake in Club Atlético de Madrid (Liga BBVA) for €44,983,163.30 on 31/03/2015. This amount is the cost of 726,707 shares of the club, whose unit price was set at €61.90. This transaction values the club at €224.9m.

The operation takes the form of a capital increase, as was announced by Dalian Wanda Group and the club's board of directors on 21/01/2015. This capital increase was approved by the general meeting of the shareholders of Atlético on 24/02/2015, and implemented by the club's board of directors on 31/03/2015.
