Goal-line technology: Hawk-Eye will be the provider for the 2015 Women's World Cup

The British company Hawk-Eye will be the official supplier of goal-line technology for the 2015 Women's World Cup (Canada, from 06/06 to 05/07/2015), FIFA announced on 31/03/2015. The 2015 edition of the Women's World Cup will be the first in which the technology will be used, the function of which is to determine whether or not the ball has crossed the goal-line completely.

In December 2014, FIFA launched a tender procedure specifying the technical requirements for the tournament from manufacturers who hold a FIFA license for goal-line technology.

The British company Hawk-Eye had already been chosen by FIFA to provide goal-line technology at the 2012 Club World Cup in Japan.

• "The use of Hawk-Eye in Canada will be subject to a final installation test at each stadium, which is a standard procedure as part of the official certification process defined in the GLT Testing Manual. These tests will be conducted by an independent test institute," announced FIFA on 31/03/2015.
