FIFA: Pascale Van Damme (BEL) sole candidate for European women's seat on the Council

"By the set deadline of Friday 03/01/2025, the UEFA administration received the candidature of Pascale Van Damme (Belgium) for the female member position on the FIFA Council (for a four-year term)," announced UEFA on 06/01/2025.

As the sole candidate, Pascale Van Damme will succeed Italy's Evelina Christillin, who in 2016 became the first woman elected by UEFA to the 37-member FIFA Council.

UEFA has also received four applications for "four member positions on the FIFA Council" (also for a four-year term):
• Razvan Burleanu (Romania)
• Georgios Koumas (Cyprus)
• Bernd Neuendorf (Germany)
• Dejan Savicevic (Montenegro)

These four candidates (listed above in alphabetical order) already belong to the FIFA Council and are all presidents of their respective national federations. "The requisite eligibility check for the FIFA Council candidates will be carried out by the FIFA Review Committee and will be communicated in due course," explained UEFA.
