LFP: Viaplay acquires TV rights to Ligue 1 & Ligue 2 in Scandinavia & the Netherlands from 2025

Swedish audiovisual group Viaplay has acquired exclusive broadcasting rights to the Ligue 1 McDonald's, Ligue 2 BKT and the Trophée des Champions in Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) and the Netherlands from 2025 as part of a multi-year agreement, announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 09/01/2025.

"This agreement reflects the growing appeal of French football on a global scale and strengthens Viaplay's position as a key destination for live sports in Europe," said the LFP. These leagues had not been broadcast in these territories since the start of the 2024-25 season.

"This agreement with Viaplay represents an important step in extending the visibility of Ligue 1 internationally. With their strong presence in Scandinavia and the Netherlands, Viaplay is the ideal partner to showcase the fervour, talent and unique charm of French football. We are delighted to be working together to bring our competitions to football fans in these regions," said Martin Aurenche, Senior Media Director at LFP Media.
