Tennis: record prize money of €58.2m for the Australian Open in 2025 (up 12% on 2024)

The prize money for the 2025 edition of the Australian Open Tennis Championships (Grand Slam) has reached a record AU$96.5m (€58.2m as of 10/01/2025), AU$10m more than in 2024 (+12%), announced the ATP and WTA 04/01/2025. The 2025 edition of the tournament will be held at Melbourne Park from 12 to 26/01/2025.

"Australian Open prize money has increased 119% from AU$44m in 2016 (10 years). It has gone up more than 36% in the past five editions," explained the ATP.

The winners of the men's and women's singles will each take home AU$3.5m (€2.1m), up 11.1% on the AU$3.15m (€1.9m on 28/01/2024, the date of the men's final) awarded to each winner in 2024 (Italy's Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus).

The singles finalists will earn AU$1.9m (€1.1m, +10%), while the doubles winners (men and women) will receive AU$810,000 (€489,200, +11%). The amount awarded to players eliminated in the first round of singles will increase by 8.3% compared to 2024, to AU$132,000 (€79,700).
