Liberty Media: Derek Chang appointed president & CEO from 01/02/2025 succeeding Greg Maffei

Derek Chang has been appointed president and CEO of Liberty Media, announced the American communications, media and entertainment group, which also owns Formula One Group, on 08/01/2025.

Derek Chang will take up his post on 01/02/2025. He will succeed Greg Maffei, CEO of Liberty Media since February 2006, who has decided not to renew his contract at the end of 2024.

John Malone, chairman of Liberty Media, is acting as interim CEO of the company until Derek Chang takes over. "I have worked with Derek for over 25 years and am consistently impressed by his leadership style, breadth of expertise and global perspective. I look forward to supporting him and the Liberty management team as they continue to drive shareholder value," said Malone.
