DNCG: "Many of the commitments made at the end of 2024 have already been met" (Olympique Lyonnais)

"At the end of 2024, OL had presented numerous commitments to the DNCG, many of which have already been met. This committee has provided an opportunity to highlight these important improvements and to continue building a relationship of trust with the authorities," stated Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 McDonald's) in the early evening on 10/01/2025.

The club has reacted to the confirmation by the Fédération Française de Football's DNCG appeals committee of the wage bill restrictions and recruitment ban imposed on it by the LFP's Professional Clubs Control Committee on 15/11/2024. This appeal did not concern the club's precautionary relegation at the end of the current season, also decided by the Directorate of Management Control.

These sanctions were initially imposed in application of article 11 of the DNCG's regulations, nine days after Eagle Football Group, owner of Olympique Lyonnais, presented its financial results for the 2023-24 financial year (from 01/07/2023 to 30/06/2024).
