Lega Serie A: CEO Luigi De Siervo's mandate extended by four years

Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Serie A since 20/12/2018, will see his term of office extended by four years following the Italian League's general assembly on 10/01/2025. The Florence-born lawyer, who was born in 1969, received 17 of the 20 votes cast.

The vote was originally due to take place on 09/12/2024, however 16 of the 20 clubs cast blank votes, expressing their desire for the decision to be postponed until after the president had been appointed. On the same day, Ezio Maria Simonelli, the Berlusconi family's former accountant and sole candidate, received just 13 votes in the first round, although he would have needed one more to be elected (two-thirds qualified majority). Backed by the majority of clubs led by the big names (Atalanta BC, FC Inter Milan and Juventus FC in particular), Ezio Simonelli, born on 12/02/1958, was eventually elected on 20/12/2024 thanks to 14 votes in his favour.
