Tennis: investment fund Blue Owl to sponsor players against top-ranked seeds at Grand Slams

US investment fund Blue Owl Capital is to become a partner of "dozens of tennis players" taking part in the Grand Slam tournaments (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open) in 2025, announced the New York-based company on 12/01/2025.

As part a "exclusive financial services partner", Blue Owl Capital is gaining brand visibility by sponsoring the outfits of players who face top seeds in the first rounds of Grand Slam tournaments.

Australian tennis player Jordan Thompson (ranked 27^th in the world in the ATP rankings as at 13/01/2025) has been appointed ambassador of the Blue Owl Capital programme. Lucas Pouille (FRA, 103^rd), Alexander Shevchenko (KAZ, 77^th) and Sofia Kenin (USA, 74^th in the WTA rankings) are also involved in this operation, in which Blue Owl Capital is investing up to $2m (€1.95m) in 2025 (for around 100 matches), according to information published in the American magazine Forbes on 12/01/2025.
