La Liga: €2.17bn in cumulative revenue for clubs in 2013-14 (+4.3%), debt declined by 5.7%

The 20 clubs and SADs (public limited sports companies) of the Spanish first division accumulated €2.17bn in revenue in 2013-14, an amount up 4.3% from 2012-13 (€2.08bn), reveals the 2014 financial report of the Liga BBVA, published by the LFP on 01/04/2015.

The report examines the evolution of the economic and financial results of the clubs in the Liga BBVA and the Liga Adelante since 2011-12 (42 teams total in the two divisions in 2013-14, but only 40 different clubs since FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF have had a reserve team in the Liga Adelante at times). The report "The Economic and Financial Situation of Spanish Football, 1999-2014", published by the CSD (Consejo Superior de Deportes, the Spanish sports ministry) on 17/02/2015, had announced a cumulative turnover of €2.26bn for Liga BBVA clubs in 2013-14.
