FIFA has launched a call for tenders for the broadcasting rights in Spain to the 2026 World Cup and the 2030 World Cup (organised in Spain, Portugal and Morocco), on 14/01/2025.

"Entities wishing to participate in the tender process can request the ITT by e-mailing spain-media-rights@fifa.org," said FIFA. The deadline for submitting bids is 10:00 CET on Tuesday 18/02/2025.

The broadcasting rights for the 2022 World Cup were held in Spain by the audiovisual group Mediapro, the telecommunications operator Telefonica and the public broadcasting group RTVE. RTVE broadcast 19 matches free-to-air, while Mediapro (via its dedicated OTT channel Gol Mundial) and Telefonica (via its pay-TV bouquet Movistar) broadcast the entire tournament. Mediapro, the original holder of the exclusive TV rights, had entered into sub-licensing agreements with both broadcasters.
