FFF: executive committee plans to introduce a professional Ligue 3 by 2026-27

The organisation of a major national conference on French football dedicated to the financing of amateur football in October 2025, the launch of the advisory council of amateur clubs (made up of 26 amateur clubs) before 30/06/2025 and the transformation of the National 1 championship into a professional "Ligue 3" within the FFF for the 2026-27 season: these are the three main projects officially launched on 16/01/2025 at the first meeting of the French Football Federation's executive committee for the 2024-2028 term of office.

"I want to make Ligue 3 an attractive, sustainable championship. To achieve this, I want to look at the conditions for regulating it: locally trained players, staffing limits, salary cap, etc. I will be giving the working group almost carte blanche to innovate.
