Social media: FC Barcelona "1^st sports club in the world" to reach 20 million subscribers on YouTube

FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) has become "the first sports club in the world to surpass 20 million subscriptions on YouTube," announced the club on 17/01/2025.

"The club has adapted its strategy to the platform's new trends, boosting the publication of YouTube Shorts, thus reaching broader audiences, attracting new users, and gaining new subscribers. Over 50% of those new subscriptions have come from YouTube Shorts," explained Barça, who created their channel on the Google-owned video platform in 2006.

85% of the Catalan club's YouTube audience is aged between 18 and 54, "a significant statistic that underscores the platform's broad range of content suitable for all types of audiences. This includes purely informational content as well as creative, entertaining videos designed to attract Gen Z, a demographic that is highly familiar with digital consumption. Another growing trend observed since 2021 is the increase in female viewers. In 2024, the percentage of female views rose by 55%."
