Real Madrid CF: Florentino Pérez, sole candidate, re-elected president for a 7^th term until 2029

Florentino Pérez has been re-elected president of Real Madrid CF (LALIGA EA Sports) for a further four-year term, until 2029, at the meeting of the electoral board, in the absence of any other candidacies, announced the club on 19/01/2025.

"In the event of there being only one valid candidacy, its members shall be proclaimed, without further ado, as members of the new board of directors," states Article 40 (Section E, point 2) of Real Madrid's Statutes. Real Madrid's board of directors met on 07/01 to initiate this electoral process. The election was three months ahead of schedule.

Among the conditions set by the club for candidates were the requirement to be Spanish, to have been a member of the club's socios for at least 20 years, and to have a financial capacity of 15% of the latest validated budget, i.e. €163m (Real Madrid posted a turnover of €1.073bn in 2023-24).

Florentino Pérez, CEO of the ACS group born on 08/03/1947, has been president of Real Madrid since June 2009. He also held the same position from 2000 to 2006. However, the club's socios have not gone to the polls…
