Hungary: Sándor Csányi, a member of the ExCo of UEFA, is re-elected president of the Federation

Sándor Csányi was unanimously re-elected as the President of MLSZ (Hungarian football federation) at the general meeting of the Federation in Telki (HUN), the 02/04/2015.

Sándor Csányi, 62, was the only candidate for the position. He has held the presidency of the MLSZ since 2010. His new term runs until 2020.

The Hungarian is also a member of the UEFA Executive Committee: he was elected for a term of four years at the 39th Congress of the European body, held in Vienna (AUT) on 24/03/2015. He will also host the 40th Congress of the UEFA in Budapest (HUN) on 23/03/2016.

  • Hungary is 34th (out of 54) on the UEFA country coefficient rankings as of 20/03/2015.
  • The Hungarian national team is in fourth place (with 4 points) in Group C for qualification to Euro 2016 after five matchdays.
