2024-25 Champions League: 1.3 million viewers for the multiplex (17 matches) on Canal+ in France

The multiplex on Matchday 8, the final matchday of the new league phase in the 2024-25 Champions League, featuring all 17 matches simultaneously, drew an average of 1.33 million viewers on the pay-TV channel Canal+ in France on Wednesday 29/01/2025 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), according to data from the audience measurement institute Médiamétrie.

This figure represented an audience share of 7%, which ranked the channel fifth in the French audiovisual market at prime time on 29/01. This is the first time that such an arrangement, with so many matches broadcast simultaneously, has been put in place in France for the Champions League.

The BSC Young Boys (Credit Suisse Super League) - Crvena Zvezda (Serbian 1^st division) match (0-1), on the final matchday of the competition's league phase, was not broadcast by Canal+ due to the display of a sponsor banned by the DGCCRF: Plus 500. The London-based broker has been the Swiss club's main shirt sponsor since the 2020-21 season.
