Kings League: partnership with Lega Serie A ahead of the launch of the league in Italy in 2025

The Lega Serie A has entered into a partnership with the Kings League Italy, a 7-a-side football competition due to be launched in Italy in 2025, announced the Italian league on 30/01/2025.

The Kings League Italy is one of the competitions organised by the Kings League, a company that organises 7-a-side football competitions and was set up by the Kosmos investment fund (founded by Spanish ex-footballer Gerard Piqué). Former players Zlatan Ibrahimović and Claudio Marchisio, both of whom played for Juventus FC (Serie A Enilive), hold the positions of president and sporting director of Kings League Italy respectively.

"As part of the agreement, Kings League and Lega Serie A will work side-by-side to develop and collaborate on events, content and activities, with the aim of continuing to grow sports entertainment for fans in Italy. Italian football legends like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Claudio Marchisio, Luca Toni, Francesco Totti, Alessandro Del Piero, Gianluigi Buffon and Leonardo Bonucci have already been involved with Kings League," explained the body.
