Ligue 1 McDonald's: a record 50 million followers on social media in January 2025

"After passing the 40 million followers mark in April 2024, Ligue 1 McDonald's is continuing its strong growth on social networks and video platforms. 50 million aggregate followers follow the main Ligue 1 McDonald's accounts in France and internationally," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 31/01/2025. "This puts Ligue 1 in third place among the world's biggest football leagues behind the Premier League and LALIGA EA Sports but ahead of the Bundesliga and Serie A Enilive."

The social networks concerned include TikTok (18.3 million), Facebook (13.9 million), Instagram (5.5 million), X (4.4 million, French and international accounts), YouTube (2.7 million), Threads (1 million), WhatsApp and BeReal (1 million), according to figures released by the LFP. The accounts on the Chinese social networks Weibo (3 million) and Douyin (1.4 million) also have a total of 4.4 million followers.
