FC Barcelona: 2^nd edition of a guide to biodiversity in and around the club's facilities

FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) have published the second edition of their guide to the species "that reside, transit or hunt" in or around its facilities at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper (Sant Joan Despí, near Barcelona, ESP), on 05/02/2025.

The guide is available in Catalan, Spanish and English. It "features 31 species of vertebrate fauna, 6 species of invertebrate fauna, 23 varieties of flora and one of fungi. It also explains two of the actions that have been carried out to preserve biodiversity, installing nest boxes and an insect hotel for solitary bees to make their nests," said Barça.

"The club is continuing its work to raise awareness of the wealth of biodiversity to be found in its facilities, following the good reception given to the publication of the first guide. The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper (training centre) and the Estadi Johan Cruyff (where the reserve, women's and youth teams play) cover a total of 17 hectares in the municipality of Sant Joan Despí, around six kilometres from the Spotify Camp Nou."
