Spain: an estimated €540m investment to develop the 11 stadiums for the 2030 World Cup

"The World Cup is not only about stadiums. It is about stadiums, base camps, training centres and accommodation. We foresee that the different stakeholders involved (in Spain) will invest €540m in the development of the eleven stadiums," said María Tato, a member of the RFEF executive committee, on 04/02/2025.

Tato, who is also a member of Spain, Morocco and Portugal's joint bid committee to host the 2030 World Cup, spoke about the 11 Spanish stadiums in nine cities (see below) where matches will be played in the 24^th edition of the FIFA competition.

"With five years to go until the World Cup, 60% of these stadiums are already capable of hosting matches in the competition," added Tato. In December 2024, the Spanish government indicated that it expected €10bn in spin-offs for the local economy, with a direct impact on GDP of €5.12bn and €5.5bn in revenue from tourism.
