Formula 1: Netflix interested in US broadcasting rights from 2026 (press)

The streaming platform Netflix is close to making a bid to acquire the rights to broadcast the Formula 1 World Championship in the United States from 2026, according to British daily newspaper The Times on 06/02/2025.

The TV rights to Formula 1 in the United States are currently held by the American group The Walt Disney Company, parent company of ESPN, until 2025. Disney, which has been broadcasting F1 since 2018 in the United States, extended its rights for a further three seasons over the 2023-2025 cycle on 22/10/2022. The annual value of the agreement is said to be between $75m and $90m (€72m and €87m), according to US magazine Forbes. No agreement to extend the partnership beyond 2025 has been announced, although Disney and Formula One Group were in exclusive negotiations to discuss this possibility at the end of 2024.
