Premier League/Piracy: 650,000 illegal streams blocked or deleted in the UK in 2023-24

650,000 streams illegally broadcasting Premier League matches were blocked or removed in the UK during the 2023-24 season, according to the English league in its Annual Report published on 06/02/2025.

Other figures released by the Premier League include:
• one million illegal video clips showing footage of English top flight matches were removed from social media in 2023-24;
• more than 50 operations to combat the piracy of Premier League matches were carried out around the world during the season;
• legal action relating to the fight against piracy is still ongoing in 16 countries;
• sentences of up to eight years in prison were handed down against pirate operators.

"The Premier League became the first sports body to directly participate in Operation 404, an initiative addressing pirate services in South America.
