LALIGA/Piracy: closure of the DuckVision platform used by 200,000 people in Spain

LALIGA has disabled the DuckVision platform "which offered illegal access to live sports content, including LALIGA EA Sports matches, to more than 200,000 people in Spain alone," announced the Spanish league on 09/02/2025.

"DuckVision consisted of a web application that invited people to download an Android app that had more than 200,000 active users in Spain in January 2025, according to data.ai, and was covered by Cloudflare, which intentionally protects criminal organisations in order to make a profit," explained the body.

"The website also allowed access to pirated content and was complemented by an IPTV system and Ace Stream (multimedia streaming protocol) to offer LALIGA content from broadcasters such as ESPN, Movistar (Telefonica), DAZN, Sky Sports, Ziggo or beIN SPORTS, among others," added the Spanish league.

The illegal content offered by DuckVision was notably broadcast on channels on the Telegram app "with more than 13,800 users" as well as on its website, which had "around 70,000 unique users in December 2024 in Spain."
