LALIGA: collaboration with Japan's WE League & Nadeshiko League renewed until 2026

LALIGA, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Japan Women's Empowerment Professional Football League (WE League) and the Japan Women's Football League (Nadeshiko League, Japan's 2^nd & 3^rd women's divisions, non-professional), which formalises "the existing collaboration between the organisations, which has been ongoing throughout 2024," announced the Spanish body on 13/02/2025.

"The scope of the MOU, which extends until December 2026, focuses primarily on working together to foster the sustainable growth of women’s football in both Japan and Spain through the sharing of information and best practices, as well as collaborating in areas of technical, financial and institutional development," explained LALIGA.

The WE League initially signed an MOU with LALIGA on 09/06/2022, with the aim of gaining expertise from the Spanish league and boosting attendance at women's football matches.
