Premier League: banned in the UK, bookmaker Stake to remain main shirt sponsor of Everton FC

Stake.com, an Australian online sports betting operator based in Curaçao, is to have its licence as an authorised UK gambling operator revoked from March 2025 because of its advertising strategy, according to the Gambling Commission, a UK government agency responsible for regulating gambling, on 12/02/2025. This sanction follows the circulation of a video featuring a creator of pornographic content and in which the Stake logo appeared, on the social network X.

The bookmaker, which has been the main shirt sponsor of Everton FC (Premier League) since the 2022-23 season (in return for an annual fee of £10m/€11.6m), is still authorised to appear on the English club's kits, but its site will no longer be accessible to users based in the United Kingdom, the territory in which Stake has been operating since 2021 via TGP Europe, a company specialised in the operation of online gaming sites.
