German Election (23/02/2025): "Team Democracy needs your vote" (DFL)

"Democracy concerns us all. At the DFL's New Year's reception in January (16/01/2025), DFL executive committee spokesman Hans-Joachim Watzke described democratic discourse, tolerance, the fight against racism and the fight against anti-Semitism as 'our beacons' and thus the DFL's attitude. He expressed the wish that the members of the football family would also base their voting decisions on these beacons," stated the German Professional Football League on 10/02/2025.

The DFL's press release, entitled "Team Democracy needs your vote", comes just a few days before the early parliamentary elections in Germany on Sunday 23/02/2025, which are aimed at renewing the 630 seats in the Bundestag, the lower house of the German parliament.

All German citizens over the age of 18 are eligible to vote, making a total electorate of 59.2 million.
