DFL: football training camps to be held on renovated pitches in collaboration with EA Sports

The Deutsche Fußball Liga and the video game publisher EA Sports FC, a partner of the DFL since 1998, have joined forces as part of the "EA Sports FC Futures" programme initiated by the latter, and will be offering training camps for young players in Brazil, Nigeria, Indonesia and Germany, announced the German body on 17/02/2025.

These sessions will be organised on pitches renovated by the DFL as part of its "Bundesliga Common Grounds" scheme launched in 2022-23 to develop football in regions lacking in sports facilities. Each of the four pitches involved "will host an eight-week training camp for young grassroots players from the respective local area, with coaching in the form of structured football training sessions and life-skills workshops, designed to support the growth and development of young people, on and off the pitch," explained the DFL. Programme beneficiaries will also be provided with "an online library of training drills created by EA Sports."
