"We favour filling of the stadium to the increase revenues. The club is now directly involved with the ticket price rates, instead of the supporters' associations (who handled the ticketing in the past). The increase of the capacity of the Stade Velodrome killed the black market (for tickets)," said Vincent Labrune, the president of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) to News Tank on 03/04/2015.

"Today we have a 67,000-seater stadium that is disproportionate to the scale of the city. There are not 67,000 people in Marseille that will come to OM matches, this is an urban legend. They come for the big matches, but over a whole season it is impossible, except to slash prices. Our major goal is to fill the stadium, but it is very difficult because Marseille is a city that is heavily affected by the (economic) crisis and does not have the economic area of a city like Lyon (FRA) for example," said Vincent Labrune. Olympique de Marseille supporters' associations have held the ticket management in turns since the early 1990's.
