The UEFA CEDB section has declared Russia the winner by forfeit (3-0) after their match in Montenegro on 27/03/2015 (Group G of qualification for Euro 2016) was abandoned following disturbances, the European body announced on 08/04/2015. The Montenegro - Russia match was initially suspended for 30 minutes after a flare hit the Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev in the first minute and the player had to be substituted. The game was eventually called off in the second half after fighting broke out amongst players and coaching staff.

Montenegro were also fined €50,000 and sanctioned to play their next two home games in UEFA competitions behind closed doors, one of which is suspended for a probationary period of 2 years. Russia was also fined €25,000 for improper conduct amongst its fans.

Additionally, the CEDB also sanctioned Croatia to play one match behind closed doors and fined a total of €55,000 following disturbances during the Croatia - Norway match on 28/03/2015 (5-1, Group H of qualification for Euro 2016).
