Portugal: former international referee Pedro Proença elected FPF president with 75% of the votes

Pedro Proença, born on 03/11/1970 in Lisbon (POR), was elected president of the Federaçao Portuguesa de Futebol until 2028 at the body's general assembly held at the Cidade do Futebol (in the town of Oeiras, near Lisbon) on 14/02/2025. He will officially take office on 24/02/2025.

The former international referee received 75% of the votes cast, i.e. 62 votes out of 83, against 21 votes for his opponent Nuno Lobo (one blank vote was also recorded).

Pedro Proença, president of Liga Portugal since 2015 (re-elected in 2019 and again in 2023) and of European Leagues since 2023, will leave these two positions to become the 32^nd president of the FPF, succeeding Fernando Soares Gomes da Silva, who has held the post since 2011.
