Ligue 2/LALIGA: a joint armband for FC Lorient & Athletic Club Bilbao captains

FC Lorient (Ligue 2 BKT) and Athletic Club Bilbao (LALIGA EA Sports) have entered into a collaboration whereby their captain will wear the same armband during their respective home matches in their respective leagues, versus Stade Levallois (22/02) and Real Valladolid CF (23/02/2025), "to promote the cultural connections between Britanny and the Basque Country," announced the two clubs on 20/02/2025.

This collaboration with the Basque club "enables the two clubs, who cherish their culture and in particular their regional language (Breton and Euskara), to combine their identities with pride. FC Lorient and Athletic Club Bilbao, which defines itself as an ambassador of Basque culture and whose squad is made up entirely of players from the Basque country, are united by a strong attachment to their region, shared values and an openness to the outside world, reflected in particular by their ports connected to the world," explained FC Lorient, the first professional club to sign the "Breton language charter" with the Public Office for the Breton Language on 02/02/2024.
