• The Spanish government has set up an inter-ministerial committee dedicated to the 2030 World Cup, which Spain will co-host with Morocco and Portugal.
• Representatives from the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol, Liga F and women's professional clubs met at the RFEF headquarters to discuss the possibility of introducing VAR and the use of mixed teams of referees in the Spanish women's league.
• Everton FC (Premier League) inaugurated its new stadium built on the Bramley-Moore Dock site (Liverpool, ENG) during a friendly match for its U18 team on Monday 17/02/2025 in the presence of 10,000 supporters.
• Manchester United FC (Premier League) closed the first half of the 2024-25 financial year (01/07 to 31/12/2024) with revenues of £341.8m (€412m), down 10.7% on the same period last year (£382.9m).
• The Premier League has terminated its broadcasting contract with Fox Sports Mexico (owned by Grupo Multimedia Lauman) following the non-payment of £100m in TV rights.
