Ligue 1 TV rights: €35m payment settled by DAZN, end of summary proceedings initiated by the LFP

"At the initiative of the president of the Paris Economic Activities Court, the LFP and DAZN are continuing their dialogue within the framework of mediation in order to find a solution to the issues shared by both parties. Within this framework, an initial agreement has been reached under the terms of which, DAZN having paid the January 2025 instalment, the LFP has withdrawn the summary proceedings it had initiated. Discussions are continuing in an attempt to reach an agreement on all the difficulties encountered between the LFP and DAZN," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel and the OTT platform on 27/02/2025.

DAZN, which holds the domestic TV rights to eight live games (out of 9) per matchday in Ligue 1 over the 2024-2029 cycle for an average of €400m per year, had only paid 50% of its final instalment (i.e. €35m gross out of €70m) for these rights. The LFP filed an application for interim relief with the Paris Economic Activities Court, which was due to issue its ruling on the dispute on 28/02/2025.
