Telefonica (Movistar): turnover of €41.31bn (+1.6%) in 2024, including €12.79bn in Spain

Spanish telecoms operator Telefonica, owner of the Movistar Plus+ pay-TV bouquet, posted a turnover of €41.315bn in 2024 (+1.63%; €40.652bn in 2023), including €12.791bn in Spain (+1.08%; €12.654bn), according to its annual financial results published on 27/02/2025.

Telefonica posted an operating profit of €2.395bn in 2024 (-7.6%; €2.593bn in 2023), while the operator's net profit stood at €209m. The telecoms operator posted a net loss of €1.473bn in 2023. The Spanish company holds the broadcasting rights in Spain to LALIGA EA Sports (five games per matchday, 2022-2027), the European Cups (in their entirety, 2024-2027), the Copa del Rey (55 matches per season, 2022-2025) and the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague (2023-2026).

Telefonica has also extended its title sponsorship of the Spanish cycling team Abarca Sports, which will continue to be known as the "Movistar Team" on the men's (UCI WorldTour) and women's (UCI Women's WorldTour) circuits until 2029, 18/12/2024. Movistar has been the Spanish team's main partner since 2011, providing it with an annual contribution of €12m per season.
