MLB: 9 million users on the mobile "At Bat" for the beginning of the 2015 season

9 million people have used the official MLB (Major League Baseball, the North American baseball league) mobile application "At Bat" for the opening days of the regular season in 2015, after the first three days of competition, on 05, 06 and 07/04/2015, announced the league on 07/04/2015.

The "At Bat" app allows fans to stream games, to listen to games without video, and instant access to the highlights from exclusive camera angles. Access to streaming via the application costs $19.99 per year (€18.50), or $2.99 per month (€2.80).

2.7 million users of the application have used video streaming (30% of total)

  • The number of users at the resumption of the championship increased 40% compared to last year.
  • Distribution of the use of the application for the resumption of the championship:
    • 30% used video streaming.
    • 20% used audio streaming (no video).
    • 20% used the the highlights platform.
    • The rest of the users of the application only consulted the scoreboard or used other simple features.
