2026 World Cup: "First ever half-time show at a World Cup final in New York" (G. Infantino, FIFA)

"I can confirm the first ever half-time show at a FIFA World Cup final in New York New Jersey, in association with Global Citizen (a humanitarian platform campaigning against extreme poverty, climate change and inequality). This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world," announced Gianni Infantino (ITA/SUI), president of FIFA, on Instagram on 05/03/2025.

The 2026 World Cup final is scheduled for Sunday 19/07/2026 at MetLife Stadium, an American football stadium (home to the Giants and the New York Jets) located in East Rutherford, near New York, in the state of New Jersey (United States).

The initiative announced by Gianni Infantino - and previously mentioned in September 2024 - was inspired by the Superbowl, the annual American football final organised by the NFL. At the last edition, on 09/02/2025, Kendrick Lamar became the first hip-hop artist to perform solo at the famous half-time concert.
