beIN SPORTS: €3.1bn invested in domestic TV rights for French competitions since 2012

beIN Media Group has invested €3.1bn in domestic TV rights for competitions played in France since 2012, as well as €800m in international TV rights for the same competitions, said the pay-TV group on LinkedIn on 11/03/2025.

"Prior to the visit of Marie Barsacq, French Minister for Sport, Youth & the Voluntary Sector, to one of our flagship programmes (”Salon VIP”, on 11/03/2025 at 19:00 CET), we’re taking this opportunity to share key facts about our investment in France," explained the Qatari group.

Among the data provided by the group:
• €200m paid back to amateur sport via the Buffet tax since 2012;
• €58.9m paid "in respect of Corporation Tax and VAT" in 2024;
• €15.5m paid to production service providers in 2024;
• €1.3m paid to SACEM (French Society of Authors, Composers and Music Publishers) in 2024.

"Despite facing significant challenges in recent years, we’ve remained steadfast in our commitment to France supporting jobs, sports culture, and the wider broadcast industry."
