CAF: partnership with the Club Association "to strengthen African club football"

• Protection and development of a large and healthy professional football sector,
• investment and promotion of the training of young talent in a long-term interest,
• ensuring players benefit from suitable education pathways throughout their sporting careers,
• promotion of fair play,
• fighting against racism, doping, violence, match-fixing and corruption in football.

These are the "strategic objectives crucial in growing club football on the continent shared by CAF and the Association of African Clubs ("ACA", which has more than 90 clubs member), who signed a "historic memorandum of understanding" in Cairo (Egypt) on 11/03/2025.

"ACA has commended CAF president Patrice Motsepe for increasing financial support for club football. This includes the $50,000 (€46,000) solidary fee given to all clubs that participated in the preliminary stages of the CAF interclub competition - marking it the first time clubs are given financial assistance to participate in the CAF interclub competitions," said ACA.
