AC Milan/Inter Milan: a joint proposal submitted to acquire Stadio Giuseppe Meazza & build a new stadium

AC Milan and FC Inter Milan (Serie A Enilive) jointly submitted a proposal to the Milan City Council (Lombardy, ITA) for the acquisition of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (in the San Siro district of Milan) and its surrounding areas, announced the two clubs on 11/03/2025.

"The document also contains a feasibility plan for constructing a state-of-the-art stadium. The plan is integrated into a broader urban regeneration project that emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and accessibility," said the two clubs.

The new 71,000-seat stadium would be built next to the existing Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (75,725 capacity), owned by the City of Milan and occupied by the two clubs under an occupancy agreement (until 2030), for which they each pay a rent of around €8m. The San Siro is due to be partially demolished if the City Council, which seeks €197m for the stadium, approves the two clubs' proposal.
