LFP: an anti-piracy awareness campaign on social media with DAZN, beIN and L1 & L2 clubs

"Subscribing to official broadcasters is essential for the club's economy. For our young talent, our educators, our champions, the love of the jersey and to sing, vibrate and celebrate together: let's say stop to piracy. Subscribing to a legal offer is making the club winning," is the message broadcasted by the 2024-25 Ligue 1 McDonald's and Ligue 2 BKT clubs on their social media on 14/03/2025.

This awareness campaign was launched by the Ligue de Football Professionnel in collaboration with the clubs and the domestic broadcasters of the first two divisions, the OTT platform DAZN (eight live matches per matchday in Ligue 1) and the pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France (one match per matchday in Ligue 1, all games of Ligue 2).

The Ligue 1 McDonald's has been a major victim of piracy since the beginning of the 2024-25 season: 55% of viewers of the Olympique de Marseille - Paris Saint-Germain game (0-3, Matchday 9) had watched it via illegal sources on Sunday 27/10/2024, according to Benjamin Morel, then CEO of LFP Media.
