6 Nations: ITV & BBC extend their TV in the UK rights until 2029 (£63m/year)

Public broadcaster BBC and private free-to-air TV group ITV have extended their broadcasting rights to Six Nations Rugby's Guinness 6 Nations for the 2026-2029 cycle (four editions) in the UK, announced the two parties on 14/03/2025.

ITV will broadcast 10 matches per edition, including England's home games. The BBC will broadcast five matches per tournament "including every Scotland and Wales home match, except when each nation is hosting England, when the fixture will be broadcast on ITV," explained the two broadcasters. The BBC also has the rights to broadcast the Guinness Women's 6 Nations and the U20 tournament, as well as radio rights to all three competitions over the same period.

The deal is worth an estimated £63m a year (€74.9m), for a total of £252m (€299m), according to British daily newspaper The Guardian. The amount will be slightly more than that paid by the two broadcasters over the 2022-2025 cycle, according to The Guardian.
