171 domain names of illegal websites were blocked in France by Arcom over the weekend of 15 and 16/03/2025, according to the French broadcasting regulator, which spoke to the sports daily L'Équipe on 17/03/2025.

The weekend was marked by the Paris Saint-Germain - Olympique de Marseille game (3-1), part of Matchday 26 of the 2024-25 Ligue 1 McDonald's and broadcast exclusively on the OTT platform DAZN on Sunday 16/03/2025 (kick-off at 20:45 CET). The Authority carried out collective blockings in two time slots (20:15 and 21:15) during the match.

340 domain names were blocked during the first leg match between Paris SG and OM (PSG won 0-3) on Sunday 27/10/2024. Benjamin Morel, then CEO of LFP Media, reported on 28/11 that 55% of the match's viewers had watched the match via illegal sources.

In its 2024 report on the fight against piracy published on 28/11, Arcom estimated the loss of revenue from sports broadcast piracy in France at €290m in 2023, or 15% of the revenue generated by legal sports platforms and broadcasters (€1.9bn).
