FC Barcelona: Barça Innovation Hub invests in Dutch startup Metrica Sports (performance analysis)

The Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB), FC Barcelona's (LALIGA EA Sports) sports knowledge and innovation centre, has become a shareholder in Metrica Sports, a Dutch start-up specialised in performance analysis, "with the goal of taking a further step into the digitalisation of tactical analysis of football matches," announced the club on 17/03/2025.

"Since 2014, Metrica Sports has been working towards a clear goal, namely to break down the barriers to access to advanced match analysis. This has led to the development of a unique tracking technology that requires no hardware and can process any video, automatically detecting phases of play. This breakthrough, combined with a business model adapted to all needs, has enabled the company to reach more than 1,000 customers and establish a presence almost everywhere on the planet," explained FC Barcelona.
