DAZN: production & global broadcast of World Sevens Football (women's 7-a-side football competition)

DAZN has teamed up with World Sevens Football (or "W7F") from 2025 onwards to broadcast and produce its new women's 7-a-side football competition, the first event of which will take place from 21 to 23/05/2025, announced the OTT platform on 21/03/2025.

DAZN will broadcast free of charge, across all the territories in which the platform is present, the matches of this first tournament organised in Estoril (POR), for which a prize pot of $5m (€4.6m) is planned. Each event, which will bring together "the best international teams and players", will see eight teams compete over two 15-minute halves on "pitches half the size of a regulation pitch". The tournament will begin with a group stage (two groups of four teams), followed by the semi-finals and final.

"DAZN will also collaborate with World Sevens Football on sub-licensing and marketing, leveraging its global reach, market-leading technology and powerful marketing engine to accelerate the growth of the competition and tap into an ever-expanding audience of football fans around the world," said the UK streaming service.
