MotoGP: partnership extended with Sportian (Globant-LALIGA) to combat piracy

Dorna Sports, the organising company of the MotoGP World Championship, has extended its partnership with Sportian (a joint venture between LALIGA and the digital transition consultancy Globant) to combat the piracy of MotoGP broadcasts, announced the company on 20/03/2025.

The two entities have been partners since 2020 (Sportian then as "LALIGA Tech", see below). "Since beginning its anti-piracy partnership with LALIGA, MotoGP has been successful in tracking and removing illegal broadcasts across social media, apps, video-on-demand (VoD) services, search engines, and illegal streaming sites. Going forward, the partnership intends to explore the integration of AI and machine learning technologies to support the detection and categorization of pirated content, to aid the continual fight against audiovisual theft," said Dorna Sports.

MotoGP uses in particular the Piracy Guard service, developed by LALIGA's "in-house piracy team" and which "ensures that unauthorised streams are identified in real time and swiftly removed. The solution routinely achieves a removal rate of over 90%, while…
