Brazil: Ednaldo Rodrigues, sole candidate, unanimously re-elected CBF president until 2030

Ednaldo Rodrigues was unanimously re-elected president of the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol for the 2026-2030 cycle during the CBF general assembly held at the body's headquarters in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on 24/03/2025.

Appointed interim president in August 2021 to succeed Rogério Caboclo, who was dismissed by the CBF ethics committee, Ednaldo Rodrigues was then elected on 23/03/2022. He was the sole candidate then, as was the case in 2025.

Ednaldo Rodrigues' "For a more inclusive football without discrimination of any kind" list, "the first black president and the first president from the Nordeste region", received all the votes from the 27 regional federations and 40 clubs in the Serie A and Serie B, a total of 141 points (compared with 137 in 2022). According to the Brazilian Federation, this is the highest score ever achieved.
